First-Time Visit & Registration
If this is your first visit, one adult from your household must come in person to the food bank to complete registration to receive food.
- Tell the volunteer you are a new client when you arrive
- You will complete your registration, intake, and sign a consent form during this visit
To speed up your registration process, please fill out an intake and consent form and bring it with you to your first visit
What to bring your first visit
- A completed and signed intake and consent form
- Proof of address for all adult household members (age 20+), such as:
- Driver’s licence
- Ontario ID card
- Utility bill
- Government cheque
- Cell phone bill
- Identification for children (newborn to 19 years), such as:
- Birth Certificate
- Passport
- Student ID
- Permanent Resident Document
- Driver’s License (ages 16-18)
What to Bring Every Visit
- Photo ID for all adult household members (age 20+)
- Children under 19 only need to be registered and show ID once per calendar year
What to expect when you arrive

- Go to the north side door marked with orange cones to check in — this is where you will go every visit
- On your first visit, tell the volunteer you are a new client and complete your registration and intake
- Bring photo ID with proof of address for all adult household members (age 19+)
- Children under 19 only need to be registered and show ID once per calendar year
- After check-in, you will be directed to the front (west) door to pick up your pre-packed food
- Please bring reusable or cloth bags to carry your groceries

Delivery program
If you are unable to visit the Food Bank in person, we offer free home delivery for eligible clients.
You may qualify if you:
- Have a disability or medical condition that prevents travel
Additional requirements:
- You must live in Richmond Hill or Thornhill
- You may be asked to provide supporting documentation such as a note from a doctor, social worker, or medical paperwork.
Deliveries arrive on Wednesdays and Friday mornings between 10:30am -12:00pm. Someone must be home to receive your food.
If you think you may qualify for home delivery, please call 905-508-4761 and select option 2, to speak with our team and discuss your situation. We will help determine your eligibility and the best way to complete your registration.

Respectful Environment
We are committed to providing a safe and respectful space for everyone, including our staff, volunteers, and clients.

- Threatening or intimidating behaviour
- Physical aggression
- Discrimination or harassment of any kind
If someone behaves in a way that is unsafe or disrespectful, we may take action, including limiting or ending access to services.
