1. Agreement

Richmond Hill Community Food Bank, together with its subsidiaries and affiliates (hereinafter referred to as ‘us’, ‘we’ and/or ‘Richmond Hill Community Food Bank’) welcomes you to our website, www.richmondhillcommunityfoodbank.ca, and any other website which we link to these Terms of Use (collectively, the ‘Site’).

By accessing and using this Site, you (and your parent/legal guardian on your behalf, if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) signify that you have read, fully understand, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use (the ‘Terms of Use’ or ‘Agreement’) and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as they may change from time to time. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY, OR COMPLY WITH, THESE TERMS OF USE, YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ACCESS OR USE THE SITE. We suggest you print a copy of these Terms of Use for your records.

We reserve the right, in our sole and absolute discretion, to modify all or a portion of these Terms of Use at any time without further notice and without incurring any liability or obligation. If we do this, we will post the changes to these Terms of Use on the Site and will indicate at the top of this page the date these Terms of Use were last revised. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of any updates.

We also reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Site, in whole or in part, at any time without notice and without liability.

Certain sections of the Site may allow you to make donations to support Richmond Hill Community Food Bank and its programs.

If you choose to donate, you agree to provide accurate and current information, including:

  • Address
  • Email
  • Donation amount and frequency

You will also be required to provide valid payment information (“Financial Information”), such as a credit card.

4. Code of Conduct

At Richmond Hill Community Food Bank, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for everyone involved, including our staff, volunteers and clients.

We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of abuse, harassment or disrespectful behaviour directed towards our staff or volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • verbal abuse or offensive language
  • threatening behaviour or intimidation
  • physical aggression or assault
  • discrimination or harassment of any kind.

Such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If a client engages in abusive conduct, Richmond Hill Community Food Bank reserves the right to take immediate action, which may include suspension or termination of services.

Our staff and volunteers are here to help, and they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at all times. We ask for your co-operation in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and support.

You agree not to upload, post, or transmit any content (“User Content”) that:

  • Damages the reputation of Richmond Hill Community Food Bank
  • Is defamatory, obscene, or unlawful
  • Contains offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate material
  • Includes personal information of others without consent
  • Infringes intellectual property rights
  • Contains harmful code (e.g., viruses, malware)
  • Promotes unauthorized commercial activity

You also agree not to:

  • Attempt to breach security or access restricted areas
  • Use bots or automated systems to access the Site
  • Disrupt or interfere with Site functionality

Any links from this Site to other websites, or references to products, services or publications other than those of the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank, do not imply the endorsement or approval of such websites, products, services, or publications by Newmarket Food Pantry.

If you breach any provision of these Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, you may no longer use the Site. We may, in our sole discretion, change, suspend, or terminate, temporarily or permanently, the Site or any part thereof or any of its features at any time, for any reason, without any notice or liability to you or any other entity. If these Terms of Use or your permission to use the Site is terminated by us for any reason, the Agreement formed by your (or, your parent’s or legal guardian’s on your behalf, if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) acceptance of these Terms of Use will nevertheless continue to apply and be binding upon you in respect of your prior use of the Site and anything relating to or arising from such use. If you are dissatisfied with the Site or with these Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, then your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using the Site. The Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability, Intellectual Property and Indemnity provisions in this Agreement shall survive any termination of this Agreement. 

16. Governing Law

The Site and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision, principle, or rule (whether of the laws of the Province of Ontario or any other jurisdiction) and notwithstanding your domicile, residence, or physical location.   

Any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Site and under these Terms and Conditions will be instituted in the courts of the Province of Ontario and/or the Federal Court of Canada and each party irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts in any such action or proceeding. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to the venue of such courts. 

17. General

If any provision is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

These Terms are binding on you and your successors.
